INTRODUCTION
The boys in green gaming clan as it is today, was officially founded on 1st March 2008. However, the name The Boys In Green or |BIG| actually dates back to some time in 2006, when a group of friends, who all played together on another server, decided they wanted some kind of common identity. Many names were thrown forward but it was when one of our founding members changed his name to the colour green our future clan name presented itself.
Although, even at this early stage the idea was discussed, |BIG| was still some time away from becoming an official clan. Then after a short period of time, in unforeseen circumstances, several of our founding members were recruited into another clan and the glorious |BIG| tags you know and love were left to rust, dead and buried in a fiery pit of despair.
This remained the case until the early part of 2008 when our soon to be founding members became disillusioned with life in their existing clan. It was through this turbulent time the founding members of |BIG| rallied against the evil forces and the glorious |BIG| tags finally achieved their destiny by rising from the ashes and claiming their rightful place among the world’s greatest gaming clans.
With the official creation of |BIG| came decisions which would shape the future of our great clan into what it has become today. Our founding members had learned many lessons from their time amongst the ranks of their previous clans, and were determined to ensure that the glorious tags of |BIG| would stand for truth, fairness, honesty and fun for all. It was with this in mind we set about creating a revolutionary way of thinking….
There would be no rankings, we would have open financial policies and most importantly all members of |BIG| were to have a voice, anything from new maps, new mod’s to well absolutely anything, decisions were to be made by us all, as a group, together!!
It was not long before word spread of our creation and new way of thinking and like minded gamers from across the gaming world began to find their way to our servers. With our ever swelling ranks, continuing policy of openness and togetherness |BIG| will continue to grow and lead the gaming clan world into a new era.
GROUPS AND STRUCTURE
Although |BIG| has no rankings like other clans and all members have a say on decisions we make we want our server to be a friendly and as fun place as possible, this inevitably means there needs to be rules and therefore someone to enforce them. Our rules are designed to ensure fairness, respect for fellow gamers and above all the continuation of all our enjoyment.
To ensure this |BIG| has two groups with special rights as follows:
|BIG|Committee Group - The Committee Group is made up of members who’s role it is to administer the various elements of running a clan. This includes tasks like maintaining the website, forums and gaming servers. It is also the duty of Committee Group members to enforce our rules, ensure moderators are acting correctly and to collectively rule on any complaints. The |BIG|Committee Group consists of founding members and members who have shown and continue to show an exceptional level of dedication and hard work.
|BIG|Moderators Group - The moderators group is made up of members who’s role it is to ensure our rules are followed. This consists of moderating the forums and our servers for inappropriate behaviour and acting on such behaviour appropriately and in accordance with our moderators procedures (procedures can be found in our rules). The Moderators Group consists of members who have been found to possess qualities of fairness, honesty and trustworthiness.
In addition to the above groups |BIG| has a 3rd group known as the |BIG|Training Team and a 4th group known as the |BIG|Communications Team:
|BIG|Training Team - handles all the competitive aspects of our clan. This covers war arranging, training, team leading, clan reps and tactical diagrams.
|BIG|Communications Team - deals with clan advertisement, public relations and recruitment.
FUTURE PLANS
In the short time this clan has been in existence we have grown significantly, far out weighing any expectations our founding members may have had. |BIG| now has a large and ever swelling list of regular members, our own dedicated server and an ever growing reputation as having some of the best servers around. However this is no time for us to sit back, we believe we have some of the finest and most dedicated players around so we will be taking our skills in to competition
We like to think of our selves as a forward thinking clan that are never afraid to try new things. We will always strive for success and hope that all of you, our guests and members continue to enjoy the new home of COD, The Boys In Green.
